As a UNE Professor, I teach students about microbiology, cell biology, immunology, and food safety both in the classroom and in the research lab.  One of my favorite parts of this job is that I often introduce students to research for the first time, and then watch them develop into scientists.  One of my key goals is to help my students appreciate and embrace the challenges of scientific research.  Although my students quickly learn that research requires hard work, skill, and dedication, I hope that everyone leaves my lab believing that science is fun<\/strong>, exciting, and rewarding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
