Contact Carrie at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:cbyron@une.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cbyron@une.edu<\/a>&nbsp;if you would like to participate in the study and help deploy temperature loggers<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>November 2020: We have obtained permission to construct a greenhouse structure on the side patio of UNE&#8217;s Marine Science Center to dry kelp this spring. This drying technique will more closely mimic industry practice, then the alternative of drying in an indoor laboratory.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>October 2020: Laboratory trials begin. Perfecting methods for inoculating seaweed with known pathogens.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>September 2020: On-board graduate student Jessica Vorse &#8211; welcome to the team!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>March-August 2020: Research shut-down due to Covid-19.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>February 2020: Project initialization and kick-off meeting at UNE North<ul><li>Participation by over 2 dozen industry members and academics to review and edit the objectives and experimental design of the project. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August 2022: Prepare manuscript for publication June &#8211;
