{"id":165,"date":"2021-06-03T09:01:12","date_gmt":"2021-06-03T13:01:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.une.edu\/maineahec\/?p=165"},"modified":"2025-04-15T15:22:26","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T19:22:26","slug":"new-director-at-northern-light-eastern-maine-medical-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.une.edu\/maineahec\/2021\/06\/03\/new-director-at-northern-light-eastern-maine-medical-center\/","title":{"rendered":"New Director at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Despite searching through a pandemic, Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center has officially hired their full-time Eastern area AHEC Director, Sarah Dyment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She has been in the position for about two months and has already hosted thirteen CUP scholars in Ellsworth and Belfast for their Rural Health Immersions. Although unable to participate in hands-on training during these immersions due to COVID-19, she provided eye-opening community experiences.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students have worked with Healthy Peninsula, Friends in Action, Health Equity Alliance, Belfast Soup Kitchen, Knox Clinic, and Waldo County Action Partners, to name a few.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the coming months, Sarah will be working tirelessly to ensure Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is successful in future endeavors as the Eastern area AHEC center.
