I\u2019m a global health and emergency nurse; I\u2019ve also worked on health programs in Baltimore city, east and west Africa, and a few other places along the way.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I feel very fortunate to have joined the incredible team at UNE\u2019s Center for Excellence in Public Health as Clinical Educator for Public Health Practice. This role allows me to combine my love of working with students, healthcare workers, and key partners here in my home state of Maine.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I grew up in the midcoast area, specifically Damariscotta-if you can pronounce it correctly, instant cred.! While I loved my time in various far away places, I\u2019m glad to be at home in Maine and to help support the health system here. A favorite word that I learned while living in Rwanda is&nbsp;<em>Turikumwe<\/em>; this means \u201cwe are together\u201d, and it pretty much sums up my belief about health and community.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When not working you will likely find me in the ocean in all seasons, or perhaps skiing with my dog and family.
