Virtual Academic Leadership Training Workshop Experience: February 22, 2021<\/strong><br>We are pleased to announce that we will conduct a one-day&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/app.connect.discoveracs.org\/e\/er?s=341921710&amp;lid=6900&amp;elqTrackId=9E6AB7A992FBEABD61DF2EC0A784B18A&amp;elq=f170a4ff7c724bc5971c94bcd4ab69bd&amp;elqaid=2653&amp;elqat=1\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Virtual Academic Leadership Training Workshop Experience<\/a>&nbsp;in February, 2021. The objective of the Academic Leadership Training Workshop is to train the next generation of academic leaders by providing them with tools, connections and skills to be successful in advancing the teacher-scholar model among their faculties and colleagues.<br>This no-cost, online event is open to faculty who are interested in learning about and pursuing leadership opportunities in higher education, such as department chairs, deans, provosts, and center directors. Participants will engage with current academic leaders to discuss topics including \u2018why you should become an academic leader\u2019 and \u2018managing the challenges of our time in 2021\u2019.<br>Chemistry faculty will receive priority acceptance to attend this online event, but faculty from other physical science disciplines will be considered as space permits. We are asking interested faculty to&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/app.connect.discoveracs.org\/e\/er?s=341921710&amp;lid=6899&amp;elqTrackId=2F75CE507096D8E904C458343B230657&amp;elq=f170a4ff7c724bc5971c94bcd4ab69bd&amp;elqaid=2653&amp;elqat=1\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">complete a short application form<\/a>&nbsp;by&nbsp;<strong><em>January 27<\/em><\/strong>.<br>The tentative date for this event is February 22, which is subject to change. ACS will cover expenses associated with travel, hotel accommodation (2 nights), all meals, and will provide an honorarium of $500 for selected workshop facilitators.
