The afternoon will feature a panel discussion&nbsp;with leaders&nbsp;in opioid response&nbsp;from the Biden-Harris Administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Governor Mills will open the Summit and join Erin French, owner and chef of the Lost Kitchen and author of the New York Times Best Seller&nbsp;<strong><em>Finding Freedom: A Cook&#8217;s Story, Remaking Life From Scratch<\/em><\/strong>. Chef French will share her personal story of survival and renewal and describe how she overcame her struggles with the help of her community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first 800 registrations&nbsp;will receive&nbsp;a free hardcover copy of Finding Freedom. One book per Unique registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be twelve breakout sessions throughout the day, covering topics across the domains of&nbsp;<strong>Prevention, Treatment, Harm-Reduction and Recovery Support.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the topics covered are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Treatment Courts, Culturally Appropriate care<\/li><li>Adverse Childhood Experience<\/li><li>Infants Plan of Safe Care<\/li><li>Connections Between Suicide and Accidental&nbsp;Overdose<\/li><li>Medication Assisted Treatment in Maine&#8217;s Prison System<\/li><li>Recovery Friendly&nbsp;Worksites<\/li><li>Compassionate Tapering<\/li><li>Recovery Pathways&nbsp;<\/li><li>Challenges of the Pandemic<\/li><li>The Main MOM Initiative<\/li><li>The Role of law Enforcement&nbsp;in Arrests, Seizures and Overdose Prevention<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This year we are excited to&nbsp;announce that registrants&nbsp;will have the opportunity&nbsp;to view the acclaimed documentary &#8221; Jacinta&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wednesday, July 14th,&nbsp; join Jacinta, Jessica Earnshaw, the film&#8217;s director, and a representative from the Department of Corrections for a panel discussion.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Information&nbsp;on how to view the film and participate in the live panel discussion will be sent&nbsp;after registering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While all the content will be available&nbsp;on a virtual platform, registrants&nbsp;who would like to participate in the Summit ina. group may contact one of the 15 recovery centers&nbsp;in the state which will be hosting participants&nbsp;subject to the individual capacity&nbsp;of each center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The centers that are open and participating in the Summit are located in Portland, Lewiston, Brewer, Bridgton, Bath, Boothbay Harbor, Machias, Calais, Caribou, Houlton, Millinocket, Lincoln, Rumford, Rockland and Ellsworth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These sites will have hosts\/moderators from the state available&nbsp;to assist&nbsp;with registrants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Register Now!
