NEH Humanities Connections Grants<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The Humanities Connection program supports innovative curricular approaches that foster productive partnerships among humanities faculty and their counterparts in the social and natural sciences and in pre-service or professional programs (such as business, engineering, health sciences, law, computer science, and other technology-driven fields), in order to encourage and develop new integrative learning opportunities for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planning Grants<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Faculty from two or more separate departments or schools (a minimum of one in and one outside of the humanities) can collaborate to design a new curricular program or initiative with Planning Grants. Funded projects<\/a> have supported plans for interdisciplinary courses and experiential activities that explore the changing landscape of suburban Philadelphia<\/a>; examine the life and legacy of African American writer Paul Laurence Dunbar<\/a>; integrate language and cultural training with engineering curriculum<\/a>; and bring together humanities and public health disciplines<\/a> in a health humanities certificate program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funding available: <\/strong>up to $35,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grant Period:<\/strong> 12 months<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Implementation Grants<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Implementation Grants support interdisciplinary collaboration by faculty to implement a sustainable curricular program or initiative. Creating a curriculum teaching business and labor history <\/a>to art and design students, and developing a three-course sequence in  focused on Boston Harbor for pre-professional undergraduate students are among this grant\u2019s funded projects<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funding Available: <\/strong>up to $150,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grant period:<\/strong> 18-36 months<\/p>\n\n\n\n
