{"id":6999,"date":"2022-05-11T09:29:40","date_gmt":"2022-05-11T14:29:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.une.edu\/research\/?p=6999"},"modified":"2022-05-11T09:29:42","modified_gmt":"2022-05-11T14:29:42","slug":"maine-inbre-news-may-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.une.edu\/research\/maine-inbre-news-may-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Maine INBRE News &#8211; May 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"maine-inbre-in-its-22nd-year-looking-back-and-ahead\">Maine INBRE in its 22nd Year &#8211; Looking Back and Ahead<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mdibl.org\/research\/research-programs\/idea-network-of-biomedical-research-excellence\/\">Maine IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence<\/a>&nbsp;(ME-INBRE) enters its 22nd year,&nbsp;it is exciting to reflect on what we\u2019ve accomplished and how we are positioned to further augment and expand biomedical research excellence in Maine.&nbsp;Since its inception in 2001,&nbsp;the network has grown from nine to 14 institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The overarching goal of the ME-INBRE is to develop Maine\u2019s capacity for cutting-edge biomedical research by providing scientific and administrative leadership, research resources (such as seed funding, state-of-the-art technological\/computational infrastructure and technical expertise), training and mentoring, and programs that foster\u00a0productive collaboration between Maine\u2019s many talented but geographically spread out biomedical scientists and students.<br><br>20\u00a0members of the INBRE Steering Committee from 12\u00a0partner institutions, along with INBRE leadership and Core Directors,\u00a0attended a retreat together\u00a0in April to discuss how to expand on our\u00a0efforts to\u00a0make Maine a more scientifically collaborative state through the INBRE network of partners, and how\u00a0to improve programs to reach more faculty and students.
