NIGMS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We\u2019re pleased to announce the launch of the new web resource, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nigms.nih.gov\/Research\/mechanisms\/Pages\/Research-Grant-Mechanism-Eligibility.aspx\">Which Research Grant Is Right for Me?<\/a> This interactive decision tree will be particularly useful for investigators who are new to or less familiar with NIGMS notices of funding opportunities that support research. Through a series of yes\/no questions, potential applicants can identify the best potential fit to one&nbsp;or more of the major research project grant types we support, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nigms.nih.gov\/Research\/mechanisms\/MIRA\">R35<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nigms.nih.gov\/about\/overview\/Pages\/SuRE.aspx\">R16<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nigms.nih.gov\/Research\/mechanisms\/Pages\/AREA.aspx\">R15<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/grants.nih.gov\/grants\/funding\/r01.htm\">R01<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The questions work through the eligibility criteria for the different award types. For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are you a new principal investigator?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does your research team include primarily undergraduates?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does your institution have no more than $6 million in total costs in 4 of the past 7 years?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does your research require multiple principal investigators?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does your institution enroll at least 25% of undergraduates supported by Pell grants?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can select the \u201cTell me more\u201d option for definitions and additional information as you click through the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage you to visit the webpage and share this resource with your colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We welcome your comments about the new tool.
