At UNE, career readiness begins early and is woven into both academics and co-curricular life. From day one, students connect with their dedicated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.une.edu\/academic-career-advising-center\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">academic and career advisor<\/a> to review a four-year career readiness plan and establish goals for their journey. Students have access to a wide range of career development programs, skill-building workshops, and experiential learning opportunities such as internships, job shadows, and networking with top employers. Here are some ways you can help:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Encourage early engagement<\/strong>: Students should connect with their academic and career advisor during their first year to explore career pathways and resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ask open-ended questions: <\/strong>Explore their interests and goals and remind them that career paths often evolve.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Support Experiential Learning: <\/strong>&nbsp;Explore opportunities such as summer jobs, internships, or volunteer work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Leverage your network: <\/strong>Connect your students with connections in your own network<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A great first step is encouraging students to create a LinkedIn account and to engage with our page that highlights career readiness and opportunities to engage: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/university-of-new-england-work-to-learn\/posts\/?feedView=all\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of New England &#8211; Work To Learn<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking Ahead<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students begin engaging with career readiness the moment they arrive on campus. Throughout their time at UNE, they will have access to impactful career events and the opportunity to build connections with top industry employers.
