Here, we’ll discuss everything from the application and review process to financial aid and final decisions. We know that applying to college can feel like a daunting process, and we are to guide you every step of the way! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can apply to UNE via the Common Application<\/a> or the UNE application<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Test-Blind Admission:<\/strong> UNE uses a test-blind admissions policy, which means we will not consider ACT or SAT scores for admission. Instead, we will review your high school experience as a whole. If you’re applying for our Nursing program, our Medical Biology\/Pre-Dental Medicine 3+4 D.M.D. program, or our Medical Biology\/Pre-Medicine 3+4 D.O. program, you have the option to submit your test scores. Please see our test policy<\/a> for more information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Application Deadlines for Fall 2023: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n You may be wondering if you should apply Early Action or Regular Decision. We recommend checking out our blog post<\/a> all about this topic, but here’s a quick breakdown of some Early Action advantages: <\/p>\n\n\n\n After you’ve completed your application, take some time to celebrate and pat yourself on the back! The first part of the admission process is behind you. Next, you can expect our admissions counselors to review your application. Since UNE is test-blind<\/a>, we will be looking at your academic coursework and grades, essays, recommendations, and any additional materials you choose to submit.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sometimes after an initial application review, our admissions committee may ask for additional documentation, such as your mid-term grades, to make an admission decision. Your admissions counselor will contact you directly if that is the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Above all, we are looking for a strong academic and personal record that will allow you to become a good fit within our community.\u00a0We love seeing what you’re involved with outside the classroom, too! Make sure your school activities, after-school activities, and letters of recommendation attest to your involvement and character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Applying for financial aid is separate from your college application. To be considered for financial aid, you will have to complete the FAFSA<\/a>: the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This information is what the U.S. Department of Education and all U.S. colleges and universities use to determine how much financial aid you\u2019ll receive. This includes grants, scholarships, federal loans, and federal work study. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The application is easy, quick and free. Read our blog post for helpful FAFSA tips<\/a>, or feel free to reach out directly to our Financial Aid office<\/a> with any specific questions. It’s important to note that UNE does not have a deadline to submit the FAFSA. However, we recommend completing the application as soon as possible. You’ll use UNE’s school code (002050<\/a>) to complete the application. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Merit aid is different from standard financial aid offerings, and will be detailed in your acceptance letter. Your merit award will be determined by our admissions team \u2014 you won’t have to fill out a separate application. Katie Bernier, Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions, explains: <\/p>\n\n\n\n We determine merit aid based off the first three years of your high school transcript. We use your unweighted GPA to determine this offering. Merit scholarships are a set amount awarded each year for all four years of your undergraduate career.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n If you apply Early Action by November 15, 2022, you can expect your admissions decision before January 15, 2023. If you apply Regular Decision \u2014\u00a0 at UNE, this is the window between November 16, 2022, and February 15, 2023 \u2014 the time it takes for you to hear back from us will vary based on when we receive your application and all required documents, such as your official transcript. Once we have received those materials, we will review your complete file, and you can expect your admission decision in two to six weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Applications received after February 15, 2023 will be reviewed and accepted based on space availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Your admissions counselor is your go-to contact and will reach out to you with any questions or outstanding application information that may be needed. Your official admission decision will come in the mail, and if accepted, will include all the details and next steps you\u2019ll need to enroll at UNE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Most colleges and universities require an enrollment deposit. UNE\u2019s enrollment deposit deadline is\u00a0May 1, 2023,<\/strong>\u00a0and includes a $300 tuition deposit and $200 campus housing deposit.\u00a0 Submitting your deposit guarantees your space in the incoming class and also opens your eligibility to select housing and dining preferences. After May 1, enrollment deposits are accepted on a space-available basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We understand that applying to college can feel complicated.
