Merrill Makerspace is looking to add to our Student Technician team! The P.D. Merrill Makerspace is located in the lower level of Decary Hall, and is a space dedicated to&nbsp;helping any member of the UNE community bring their ideas to life. No experience is necessary, but applicants should be comfortable speaking to both small and large groups, and be open to learning how to use various equipment and technologies in order to support Makerspace projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a student technician, you will work with the Makerspace Coordinator to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Welcome and orient new users to the Makerspace<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support users during open hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clean and maintain Makerspace equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep Makerspace inventory up to date<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend weekly staff meetings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support Makerspace projects and provide technical expertise<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be present for and participate in tours for various groups including potential students, donors, and university faculty\/staff<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Technicians will be cross-trained with the Sustainable Innovation Center (SIC) assistants, and will occasionally provide coverage in the SIC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Technicians will also select from the following specialties to ensure their skill set is being used effectively in the Makerspace:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Makerspace Teaching Assistant<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will be working with the Makerspace Coordinator supporting labs designed for classes in areas such as business, assistive technology, and marine and aquarium science, as well as Makerspace workshops on topics like 3D modeling, sewing, and animation. You will help design the labs and workshops to make sure they are engaging and then help deliver them over the course of the semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Makerspace Design and Production&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will be working with the Makerspace Coordinator and clients on incoming work orders or similar projects. Responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Being part of client meetings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and manufacture of client work orders using the various Makerspace equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working to deadlines laid out during the project intake process and in subsequent meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apply on Handshake at <a href=\"https:\/\/app.joinhandshake.com\/emp\/jobs\/10209862\/details\">this link<\/a>!
