We want to express our heartfelt appreciation to our Western Maine AHEC Director, Jolene Luce, for sharing this highlight from their newsletter, The Westerner.
We’re excited to introduce Victoria Bowler, a PA student at the University of New England. Last year, Victoria completed her Rural Health Immersion in Western Maine, guided by Jolene. The Scholar RHI program is designed to give students insight into the unique dynamics of rural healthcare in Maine. Victoria’s immersion took her across Franklin and Kennebec Counties, including experiences at Franklin Hospital and the Belgrade Lakes Regional Health Center.
We’re especially thrilled that this RHI experience motivated Victoria to return to Franklin for her pediatric clinical rotation. It’s wonderful to see students reconnecting with their RHI placements during their clinical training!
