Because Staphylococcus aureus infections are a major cause of drug resistant, biofilm-associated infections, novel therapeutics are needed to treat these infections. Therefore, my project focuses on the effects of antimicrobial peptides (AMP) on the antibiotic-mediated killing of staphylococcal biofilms.
