Doc 4 A Day

The Northern Maine AHEC center has been working with the Simulation team at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center to create a “Doc 4 A Day” program. While similar to the ones hosted by MaineHealth, the program will be used as a new pathway program for local high school students in Northern Maine, allowing them to act out life-like scenarios, and learn how each individual role, whether it be student, attending, pharmacist, etc., works together to ensure patient care is provided safely and smoothly.

In addition to these scenarios, students will learn to take vitals and the basics of suture training. These students will also have the opportunity to work and learn alongside 3rd year medical students from UNECOM, learn about their educational journey so far, and have the chance to ask their own questions. The first “Doc 4 A Day” sessions are expected to start in April 2026.
