The first days of a new academic year are always filled with a slate of events that serve to connect students to one another and to important resources. The introduction of our newest community members, your first year and transfer students, requires an exceptionally thoughtful approach, marked by the provision of just-in-time information. To achieve this, a committee of professional team members meets regularly to talk about student needs and to evaluate what’s been learned through survey data and the latest research. Click on the following links to view the schedules created; each of which were tailored to meet the specific needs of our different cohorts:
- First Generation Students (those students who are the first of their family to enter college).
Student Engagement
UNE was very happy to welcome our new and returning students to the Biddeford campus last month. It’s always a wonderful time of year to see both new and familiar faces around campus, and one filled with lots of energy and excitement. To celebrate the start of our academic year, our Student Engagement team created a full schedule of events presented during our annual Weeks of Welcome.
Among the many events offered were:
- Bingo Night
- First Day Festival
- Involvement Fair
- Comedy Show
- Nor’Easter Fest
- Field Day
Pro tip: Do you want to help guide your student towards social and educational programming that can help them tap into the excitement? Encourage them to log into the Engage platform (available online and via mobile app) to see a schedule of events and to learn more about UNE’s student-led clubs and organizations.
