To be considered compliant with immunization requirements, new students must submit a current immunization record to Student Health Services before attending classes. Documentation of immunizations should be uploaded to Medicat, UNE’s patient portal, at https://une.medicatconnect.com/. Students should make sure that their name and date of birth are on each page of the immunization record. Please call Student Health Services if you have any questions at 207-602-2358.
Required Documentation
The State of Maine requires the following immunizations for all students:
- 2 doses of the MMR vaccine administered after age 1 and at least 28 days apart, or an MMR antibody titer showing immunity.
- Tdap/Td vaccine administered within the last 10 years and maintained during the student’s enrollment.
Additional immunization requirements for all students living on campus:
- The Meningococcal ACWY vaccine, administered on or after the age of 16 and within the last 5 years before the student’s move into the residence halls, is required.
Students should also check with their academic program for any additional requirements.
Immunization Requirement for Returning Students
Tdap/Td vaccine is given every 10 years. Many students will be due for a dose while they are attending UNE. Student Health Services will notify your student if their next Tdap/Td is due. Students will need to schedule a visit with Student Health or their PCP to get their vaccine. The state of Maine requires students to remain current with their Tdap/Td to attend school.
Visits to the Student Health Center
Student Health Services sees students by appointment Monday through Friday. SHS will bill the student’s health insurance for visits. Please make sure your student has their health insurance information, a picture of the front and back of the card on their phone is fine. If a parent/guardian is the subscriber of the insurance, we will also need that parent/guardian’s name, date of birth, and address to submit claims to the insurance company properly.
