Markus Frederich, Ph.D., Professor of Marine Science, SMEP, and his graduate student Emily Lancaster, M.S. published a book chapter on the invasion history of the European Green Crab, Carcinus maenas. This chapter outlines the world-wide invasion history of green crabs, describes different mechanisms that allow this species to be that successful, and discusses potential mitigation methods. The other chapters in that book provide a detailed description of the physiology of different organ systems, as well as the ecology of this invasive species.
