Update: Masks & Human Subjects Research

In light of recent changes to the UNE Onward Plan, the requirement for vaccinated human research participants to wear a mask has been relaxed. Specifically, as long as the research participant provides their vaccination card evidencing full vaccination and completes a UNE Vaccination Confirmation form, they do not need to wear a mask during their study visit.

If the participant cannot produce their vaccination card, or will not complete and sign the vaccination confirmation form, then they must wear a mask at all times.

Please carefully review the updated UNE IRB Guidelines, Important Information/Screening Questionnaire and the requisite Vaccination Confirmation Form attached here. This updated information will be available on the UNE IRB website (https://www.une.edu/research/compliance/irb) soon, and we will continue to communicate this through other channels. If you can please forward this information to your UNE research colleagues that may not be on this email as well, it would be very much appreciated.

Thank you, please let me know if there are any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Brian Lynn, JD
