We are pleased to announce that the Pilot Project Research Award Applications are now open, with project dates of August 15, 2022 – June 30, 2023. Letters of Intent are due May 9, 2022 at 5pm.
The mission of the NNE-CTR, directed jointly by Co-PIs Clifford Rosen, M.D., Maine Health, and Gary Stein, Ph.D., University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine, is to develop the clinical and translational infrastructure that supports and sustains community and rural health and health care in the IDeA states of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Our NNE-CTR consists of 7 Core Units that are collaboratively committed to the immediate and long range goals of developing novel strategies to improve the health, health literacy and delivery of health care to Northern New England communities.
Our Pilot Projects are designed to stimulate new collaborations and multidisciplinary partnerships between laboratory scientists, physician investigators, and rural practitioners looking to begin a career in clinical and translational research. We provide funding and professional support for clinical and translational research, from project development through completion, for NNE-CTR members. Particular attention will be given to grants related to health challenges including Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease and its associated diseases (obesity and diabetes), chronic disease, COVID-19 impacts, substance use disorders, and other research addressing health equity and health care disparities in our predominantly rural Northern New England communities.
