On September 12 at 1 p.m. Eastern, Dr. Lara Thompson will discuss robotic training methods used in her lab at the University of the District of Columbia, which could help improve balance in aging individuals. Dr. Thompson is the founding director of the Biomedical Engineering Program and the Center for Biomechanical & Rehabilitation Engineering at the University of the District of Columbia. She investigates assistive technologies and robotics aimed at improving balance in elderly individuals and survivors of stroke.
