Save the Date! Virtual Academic Leadership Training Workshop Experience: February 22, 2021
We are pleased to announce that we will conduct a one-day Virtual Academic Leadership Training Workshop Experience in February, 2021. The objective of the Academic Leadership Training Workshop is to train the next generation of academic leaders by providing them with tools, connections and skills to be successful in advancing the teacher-scholar model among their faculties and colleagues.
This no-cost, online event is open to faculty who are interested in learning about and pursuing leadership opportunities in higher education, such as department chairs, deans, provosts, and center directors. Participants will engage with current academic leaders to discuss topics including ‘why you should become an academic leader’ and ‘managing the challenges of our time in 2021’.
Chemistry faculty will receive priority acceptance to attend this online event, but faculty from other physical science disciplines will be considered as space permits. We are asking interested faculty to complete a short application form by January 27.
The tentative date for this event is February 22, which is subject to change. Additional information will be posted to this webpage as it becomes available.
This virtual event will take place in lieu of an in-person event in 2021 due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19. Safety is a core value of the American Chemical Society, and the health and well-being of our members, community, and staff are paramount.
