Emerald Wright has recently joined the University of New England team as the Senior Animal Care Technician and is employing her hard work ethic in the primary Rodent Facilities.
She holds a BS in Wildlife Biology from Unity College, where she gained considerable field experience as a Herpetology Field Technician and working as a volunteer with Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife studying animal populations in the wild, most notably wood turtles. Emerald comes to the team with a broad range of experiences in and out of the laboratory setting, including animal handling, sample, and data collection, and detailed specimen observation. She is now employing these skills, and many like them, with great benefit to the robust and diverse rodent research program at UNE. She is highly adaptable and very enthusiastic, and since being hired she has shown tremendous dedication to the welfare of the program. Emerald’s bright attitude and attention to detail are a welcome addition to the team and we are thrilled to have her.
