The Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) in Acute Care Research and Rural Disparities is pleased to announce a Request for Applications for our Year 3 Pilot Project Program. We plan to fund two projects of up to $50,000 in direct costs in Year 3. The Acute Care COBRE strives to foster a multidisciplinary breadth of research focusing on all areas of acute care concerns and disparities across our rural communities. Acute care and rural disparities research topics can encompass critical care, emergency medicine, cardiology, trauma, substance abuse, mental health, health equity, social determinants of health, and beyond. Integrating community-engaged research paradigms into research projects is welcome. Translational, social/behavioral health, and clinical researchers are also encouraged to apply for pilot project funding.
For this round of pilots, we are requesting submission of a one page Letter of Intent (LOI), to ensure that submitted full applications are sufficiently responsive to the Acute Care COBRE themes. The LOI submission deadline is July 11, 2022. Pilot project PIs will be notified on July 18, 2022, whether they have been approved to submit a full project application. The submission deadline for the full pilot project applications will be Oct. 10, 2022. We plan to send this announcement out on several email lists, so we apologize in advance if you receive multiple copies of this email.
Instructions for completing the Letter of Intent can be found in the attached document. Questions about the Acute Care COBRE Pilot Project Program can be sent to Tom Gridley (thomas.gridley@mainehealth.org) and Cole Ferm (nicole.ferm@ mainehealth.org).
