I-Trep Summer Course in Biomedical Entrepreneurship – June 18-25, 2021

This course will provide the training that biomedical researchers need to bring their innovations from bench to marketplace/bedside through the appropriate commercialization path.

Participants will learn how to:

  1. Evaluate biomedical invention readiness,
  2. How to navigate ethical issues in entrepreneurship,
  3. Evaluate the market for biomedical invention,
  4. How to attract investors,
  5. Select appropriate commercialization path for the biomedical invention to reach to the customers (e.g. patients),
  6. Develop a technology roadmap for longer-term growth,
  7. Identify and acquire financial resources (federal and private)

Course design: 

This team-based intensive course will be structured daily independent learning assignments, afternoon team-based work, and guest speakers with Q&A and networking.  Teams will present a final pitch to a panel for constructive feedback on the projects.
