NIA Director’s Regional Meetings provide an opportunity for our leadership to visit with researchers in parts of the country that may not historically have received significant NIA funding. The goal is to encourage investigators in all career stages to learn more about our scientific priorities and ultimately join the aging research community.
NIA will host the 2020 NIA Director’s Regional Meeting virtually on December 7 in partnership with Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. While we won’t be onsite in Tennessee, our interactive virtual conference will still provide a forum for scientists to better understand aging research from a range of perspectives and disciplines, and how to apply for NIA funding.
Connect with NIA leadership
During this exciting event, we will offer a suite of presentations and an opportunity for scientists to meet division leadership and ask questions about aging research and related funding opportunities. The conference will be of particular interest to those new to the field of aging research and provide an environment that promotes interactive and motivating discussion. All participants will be invited to share comments, ideas, and experiences. My colleagues and I look forward to meeting with so many outstanding researchers from the “Music City”!

We will also host virtual breakout sessions in which attendees will have an opportunity to ask specific questions about NIA’s research divisions and programs, training, and small business funding.
