P3-Strategic Plan – FY20 Semi-Annual Check-In
Research Council met with leadership team for semi-annual review of P3 Strategic Plan.
The RC Chair highlighted Spring 2020 Leadership Report
- Progress since September 2019
- The status of research operations under the COVID-19 pandemic, as stated on Spring2020 report.
The President requested more updates on Research projects under COVID-19.
- Have all research operations stopped?
Chair: Not all research projects have stopped.
- What is the plan of Research community returning to campus?
Chair: The ORS office evaluates projects one-by-one. Students complete their research with the help of different scientists covering COVID-19, OSHA, and EHS regulations. As part of these efforts, RC pulled R. Souza to Research operations contingency planning work groups. We plan to gradually bring the research community back to campus from the beginning of June. We are working to find out who will return to campus first? When? How many people will be in the room and building at the same time.
- What is the status of marine research?
Charles T: We plan to be on the water in June and on the boats in July.
Provost: Digital Health Center announcement was planned after the June BOT meeting.
