UNE NORTH is pleased to invite UNE faculty from across colleges and disciplines to join our work as affiliated faculty. UNE NORTH connects researchers, educators, policy makers and industry leaders from across Maine and the North Atlantic region to implement collaborative approaches to building resilient communities, health environments and thriving economies. Grounded in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and with its growing network of regional partnerships including Iceland, Canada, Sweden, Norway and the U.K, UNE NORTH will train a new generation of leaders, inform policy through research, promote interdisciplinarity and the co-creation of knowledge in all its activities, and support Maine’s leadership role in the North Atlantic.
UNE NORTH brings the University of New England’s strengths in the life, health, and social sciences, as well as the arts and humanities, to bear on the North Atlantic’s shared challenges and opportunities. UNE NORTH seeks to build an internal network of affiliated faculty to reflect UNE’s broad range of strengths, help grow its programs through interdisciplinary collaboration, and identify opportunities for new partnerships.
UNE NORTH Affiliated Faculty will have:
Research, education, and/or outreach interests that align with the mission of UNE NORTH
- related to the core North Atlantic issues that underpin the UNE North mission and/or
- related Maine and regional interests that could be expanded to include North Atlantic partnerships.
UNE NORTH Affiliated Faculty will contribute to UNE NORTH by:
- participating in working groups, collaborative discussions, forming grant-writing and research teams
- actively seeking ways to collaborate within the UNE North network
