UNE North has been awarded its first National Science Foundation grant.

Project Title: Engaging Indigenous Youth in Sustainability Science

The $107,000 award will support a small gathering of Indigenous New England and Arctic youth to coincide with the UArctic Assembly. Five young people from the Arctic and five from New England will engage with the Assembly participants and sessions, as well as with VIPs. With the facilitation of the Wabanaki Youth in Science Program (WaYS), they will also plan a larger gathering of Indigenous New England and Arctic youth to be convened at a later date. We are so pleased to be the Primary Investigator on this award and to be working with WaYS and the UArctic on this important initiative
