- Extramural NEXUS: New Workflow to Check if the Single IRB Requirements Apply. Note: The sIRB is for a multi-site study where each site conducts the protocol under the control of a local site PI and the site is administratively distinct. The sIRB is not required for a single-site study that involves several locations if only one site conducts and coordinates the protocol.
